Nice bit of a gravelly-roar in there for good measure 8) I had my mind set of a 70mm universal one for my build and I think that pretty much confirms it ;)

A bit of progress.......

Post by Dino » Fri Sep 13, 2013 10:49 pm

Its been a little while so its about time I updated the thread.

Nothing major, but a few bits and bobs along the way.

Since buying the car in May, I covered about 5k miles by end of July, so was due for a service.
As I wasn't happy with the BMC CDA I had fitted I bought my self a K&N Replacement OEM filter as part of the service.

As this was the first service I thought I'd change more than the oil and filter, so bought:
Mobil 1 10w40 Fully Synthetic oil,
Smaller ADL Blueprint Honda Oil Filter ADH22114 (same as small HAMP Oil filter)
Spoon Magnetic Sump Plug
ADL Blueprint Fuel Filter &
NGK Irridium Tipped plugs

The car is still running smooth 1k miles on, doesn't burn a drop of and no smoke on Vtec :P

The following weekend was the Summer LG meet and Dyno day, so I wanted to she how she was performing.

The results at the end was a 210bhp @9100rpm & 128ftlb torque @ 6990rpm

These Pics & Vid Courtesy of @Mart609 (hope you don't mind me using them buddy)

The results were pretty much as I expected, but I'm planning to release a few more ponies.
On the day I tried a back-to-back dyno comparison on the car with my standard ecu and a TopFuel (Set-map) ECU.
The car made about 2ftlb of torque across the board and lost 0.5hp peak. I wont buy a generic ECU for the Teg in future now  ...especially when they still sell for £250-£300 2nd-hand!!!

After the Dyno, we had th LG Summer meet, went out for a drive & Nitin got this great pic of the car in motion.
Excuse the chessy grin

The exhaust on the car can be a little noisy on a motorway run and the DC2 didn't come with rear speakers.
So I bought some new JVC jobbies, a set of speaker holders and went about fitting them in the car.
Image
The sound has soooo much depth over what it was previously, and I didn't realise how poor it was until I fit them. Creature comforts are severely lacking in a DC2

So after a little pondering over what to do next, I needed to get my front bumper /lip painted after the previous owner hit a pheasant and split the paint. When getting the bumper/lip painted I wanted to get a cold air feed for the air box and get it painted in Championship white. There are a few available on the market and the Tegiwa one is supposed to be a good fit.

This is what it looks like fitted:

So hopefully when painted it should look quite discreet.

While buying the air intake my wallet was feeling a little twitchy, so decided to have a hunt for an exhaust manifold as I felt this was holding the car back a little.

The OEM JDM 98 Spec 4-1 manifold is a great design from factory and is a usual upgrade for 96 spec an UK Integra Type-R's.

However, improvements can be had with other aftermarket designs.

On my previous DC2 I had a range of various manifolds Mugen 4-1, DCsports 4-2-1, Spoon 4-1 and a Toda 4-2-1.
The Toda was my favourite and complimented the mods on my old car the most.
So it just happens that Tegiwas own manifold is a direct copy of the Toda manifold for a fraction of the price of a Toda item with proven gains on both the 96 & 98 spec Dc2's.

So I bought one yesterday and she arrived today. :)

Planning to fit this tomorrow when its dry.

While I'm at it, I'm going to fit a pair of new 12V Dual tone horns from a 2006-2010 Seat Leon 430Hz & 510Hz.
As we all know, Honda horns are a little bit on the feeble side and after driving my old mans Leon and using the horn, I knew that was the horn I wanted so went and bought a pair from ebay.

So I'll hopefully have a few more pictures and vids of the horn tomorrow once Ive fitted them.

Cheers Bri, Yup Im well. Need to catch up for a beer soon. Been a while!!

I know what you mean Nathan, but the quality of the work/welds on the manifold is awesome and the Air feed is one of the best fitting on the market. Cant complain about anything at all, service was great and the parts i'm well chuffed with.
