Whoever told you the interval is 120000 or 7 years is talking utter arse biscuit !!!
60000 or 6 years is the interval until 98 model year
then
72000 or 7 years
This change in interval was done across the range during the realignment of service schedules.
If you enjoy driving every day with a ticking time bomb under the bonnet carry on but don't say you haven't been warned

You should be... I was pushing my luck thinking I'd do it soon. I'd just been to a dyno day with Rob (Nucleustylz) and said to him there that I was pushing my luck as I didn't know when the belt was changed last.littlefeller wrote:dont say that, got me worried now
... It snapped on the way home

Owners manual, page 116, "Timing belt and timing balancer belt" marked R for replace at 60 thousand miles, or 60 months, whatever comes first.
What manual were you using

Several results from Google turn up the 105k number, but mostly on American forums so maybe they're talking in KM (105,000km = 65,244mi)?
Anyway... I need to do mine soon then, I'll probably be nearly at 120k by Christmas. Better check the big pile of receipts I've got to see when it was actually done... if ever
