My first ever car video..

Post by nitin_s1 » Wed Nov 20, 2013 1:55 pm

Wanted to do a proper car video for ages but before I go and do my actual car I thought about doing a experiment on the scaled HPI RC model of my car..

First ever attempt at making a car video so I don't think it's perfect and the panning is not very smooth in some shots. :x :(

I made my own camera slider out of the bits I had lying around in the house. Edited on iMovies for stuff like transition between clips and music etc etc.

Was going to put my JDM pants on the bottom of the car but they were already wet from seeing Ratty's pictures.

Will do something like this for my actual car after it has had the body shop treatment. ;)

Soo.. How is it? :?

Comment and criticism always welcome.

Cool. What camera did you use? Show us a pic of your home made slider.

Nice work. I tried for ages to make my own slider but could never get it smooth enough so ended up buying one from Hague http://www.b-hague.co.uk/hague_cam_slid ... system.htm

Some nice sliders there especially the one with slide control (crank handle) but the cheapest/simplest is £60ish..

I made mines for free. :D

The slider looks cool. What are the runners made out of?

Made out of this stuff electrical wire hiding stuff

We just renovated our house and had wires hanging out so we used those to hide wires etc and make it neat. I saw that the lid (?) to those tubbing is very secure but moves freely horizontal. So tested it out and stuck it to one spare wood flooring board and that's it.
