Engine & Transmission Oil Change. New Valve Cover & Heat Shi

Post by NafemanNathan » Sun Mar 25, 2012 10:20 pm

Well the big oil change has come and gone. Just short of 5 litres of Fuchs Titan Race Pro S and I dare say she probably needed it ;) ...

Image

And then enough Amsoil MTF to renew the probably once-in-it's-life-time-replaced-before transmission oil to what's that?.... Rid the gearbox of it's 5th gear crunch?! Nooooo?!..... YES! :D

Took her for a spin today with the family to a BBQ and she's shiftin pretty damn slick now I must say. I was hoping she would ;-)

Then thanks to Rich and his skills I managed to simply remove three bolts to remove this sucker...

Image

To give it a quick wire-brushing down...

Image

Before applying lashings of Krust...

Image

To allow to dry...

Image

Before spraying satin black...

Image

It's a relatively naff finish, but it's consistant and possibly only a temporary fix, that looks much MUCH better than it did ;-)

Then I put it all back together with one awesomely white valve cover 8-) (Again excuse the shocking pictures... My camera couldn't cope with how white it actually is  )...

 I'll colour it in with my black perminant marker if you like... The VC letters seem to be holding up alright :P

Does look a tad orange/brown doesn't it?
