Has Amsoil MTF cured your 5th gear grinding issues?

For the second time running (2 different ludes) Amsoil MTF (Manual Transmission Fluid) has remedied my 5th gear grind! :D

I did have the technique of shifting without it grinding, but I had to pick my moment and there was no real way of shifting up quick without it grinding. If I was lazy or slow it would grind. I did a transmission oil change on Saturday and on the very first shift into 5th gear on Sunday... Perfect!

I'm not saying it's the answer to everyone's 5th gear issue, but as I said, it's sorted me out twice and I think JayJay said it sorted him out too. I used it the first time as I'd heard the wonderful stories and I just wanted to reiterate it.

This is the stuff (You'll need x2 US Quart)

Its worth doing even if you dont have shifting issues :D My old black 5G had the 5th gear grind, I never did anything about it though.

I imagine it would. I only mentioned 5th gear as 99% of the time it's only this gear that has the problem. Reverse I think is generally the next gear to have the issue. But they're all bathing in the same fluid, and if it can eradicate the problem for one gear, why not another? All depends on how bad it is and what is actually causing the issue. For the money, time and ease of the job, it's definitely worth a try ;-)
