If you knew me in person I'm constantly changing my mind about my cars :LNafemanNathan wrote:I didn't see a coffee table option, so I went with big NA build... But I'm an NA man.
How come you were between SC and NA, then confirmed you were ruling out turbo, and then suddenly decide to turbo it?![]()
What swung you? Cost?
But i'm stuck between SC and TC atm still reading and debating what the best option is

Thats the plan buddy gonna strip and rebuild it to get the experience outta of it. either way it'll be rebuilt for boosting just haven't decided on SS or TC yet :L

Touch yourself.
Then think how you ruined a perfectly good car.

Proper turbo setup cost small fortune but it's proper one. It gives you extra power for your fun. Soft turbo IMHO is for people who wanna hear "pssssst" after accelerator depress plus small performance changes. This can be used on stock engine internals. So the question is do you wanna build small street monster or "pssssst"ing toy?
How big gain you will get from soft turbo? Same much or almost same much as from well built N/A which will be safer to run.
But it's only me. And I always wanted all or nothing

boost is the way forward in my opinion but from my experience low boost depending on how much is a bit of a gamble ie my engine was fine at around 4 psi (240bhp) but when I had the boost put up to 7psi (265bhp) the piston rings started failing and eventually the balance shaft seal failed. It also depends on the health of the engine mine had done around 150,000 mark
I now see it as if you want big power safely then you must sleeve the block and have it done proper which ain't cheap

skunk2 cams, type r/mahle gold pistons, atr/skunk2 intake and standalone management should give you around the 250bhp mark NA

I've been reading through some of the other honda and prelude site's, alot of guys from the US are running turbo'd h22a. I'm in no rush so I can save then buy all the parts as time goes on, then when ive almost got everything I can get the blocked sent off to get sleeved and go from there.
So think turbo is the way forward atm still doing a lot of research though but there seems to be loads of info out there anyway :p
