Alloy Wheel Refurbishment

Post by nitin_s1 » Mon Apr 07, 2014 7:17 pm

What is the actual Honda OEM colour for Motegi/ATR wheels?

I have a set of ATR wheels which were powered coated in Purple (For track days buy the previous owner) like this

I want them looking like this..

There is a local Mobile Alloy wheel repair guy who will repair them for me for £160, Is that a good price?

I can't help with the colour. I imagine you'll struggle to find the exact colour although I'm sure all Honda silver wheels will likely be the same silver.

£160 is a good price though. I used to pay £40 a wheel, but my guy put his prices up last year. No £45 a wheel which is still competitive.

What company is it?

Nitin just ask him....

Is that a full wheel paint? Front and back of wheel?

What guarantee do you get and is that inc vat?

What paint and lacquer does he use?

There is a reason why i charge £240 Inc vat and give a lidetime guarantee with wheels.

With wheels colour try
Honda Stout Silver code NH75M or OEM Sebring Silver. I use both of these on Honda silver wheels.

I got mine done for £160 that's inside and out sanded and filled plus two coats laquer. there are few things that stick out like a sanding scratch missed with filler but is so slight its not worth worrying about im very happy with them,. and after what mr mclelland has told you about his rates I would say you have got a bargain under the conditions of what (RattyMcClelland) has mentioned inside and out, good lacquer and overall great refurbishment!

2 coats of lacquer minimum on anything you relacquer.

On wheels IMO its best to do 3. Easier to build up the gloss without runs.

yeah I did try get three but for 160 I really couldn't complain. I like the fact you give lifetime warranty with your service what does that cover?
