Are you sure oil is the answer? Maybe for a short time it may seem better...
As I understood from thread name it is a common thing, so maybe it's that 5th gear hub problem? I may be wrong :) But it is a known problem for 5th gen Prelude and ATR boxes. Only the latest (maybe 2001-2002) gearboxes had improved 5th gear hub, part number 23626-P16-317 (~100$ in USA). All earlier are known to fail eventually:
23626-P16-306
23626-P16-307
23626-P16-316

I saw several discussions on USA forums about gear grinding in general. People was discussing about different brand oils, witch helps more. Then came couple guys, who builds gearboxes. One from Synchrotech, other form don't remember where. And explained, that if there's grinding, you need to change synchros or other parts. Oil just may cover the problem for a little while. It's completely logical for me and I think it's true :) Yes, Synchrotec sell parts, but I don't think it was their advertisement, because they really consult and help people in various forums, as far as I saw. So they should talk true, to my mind.

One more thing to add from my knowledge (don't know how much true), from the same thread I think, o maybe other, that oil can cause problems to Honda gearboxes. Don't use too think one, that really can cause grinding especially then oil is cold. I myself use Honda MTF-3 all the time.

Hope this helps, if this thread is about this problem at all :)

And you know this how? Suddenly the Facebook post about possibly getting an iPhone looks even more suspect

It will have reset when you edited the options I think - I certainly haven't touched it

You may well be right. It is generally the syncromesh that causes the grinding, and it may well be naff/unsuitable oils that cause it in the first place. But for an oil to instantly sort the issue may suggest it wasn't necessarily bad enough to warrant a rebuild (@ £600+).

I can't tell you whether the grinding ever returns after using MTF, just know mine is all good now :)

Hmmm I did wonder that. Is that something Kawa can sort? Maybe have a reset button, but otherwise allow the existing votes to remain if the OP is edited?
