jealous of the brakes not tempted to do the rear brake conversion like richies? i think you should so he can make me a set of bracket whilst he does ur's!

I'm doing the same sponsored walk I did last year - the Bath Beat, upped my game from the 12.5 mile route to 17 miles and need to put in some more training as it's in two weeks.

You sure you're not just too conscious those bucket seats are a little too tight?

Nice hoard though bud. And that manifold looks awesome! Is it a replica of anything? Or has Alan customised it to suit your build? You going to get it ceramic coated?

Yeah, I figured I’d get some new replacement rears with doing all the brakes and found the DC5’s almost by accident, they were just too good to miss really.

As said above, Alan has made it specifically to my specs. It’s a 4-1 design, the top part I posted a pic of was requested to have very short primaries and to match both the 2 piece design of the OEM manifold, to ease installation and also to expel the supercharger gases as efficiently as possible. Hunting around the web, I found a few places that have researched manifold designs on Supercharged Hondas, with the most part coming from the very respectable place; Endyn. They have found that the gases flow more efficiently differently to Turbo and N/A. Short primaries, 4-1 design and a large enough diameter for the build.
Endyn do a custom manifold for B18 SC Teg’s and was about the best I’d seen in design and also the quality– their’s was a measly 2.75” after the collector though. Woopty Doo!
So I used those pics as a basis for Alan’s fab work. I have to say the job he’s done on the whole thing looks amazing in the pictures – the guy is an artist!

After the top part is a simple 3.0” mandrel bent downpipe, with a flexy and two O2 bungs (to run my AEM UEGO wideband).

So yes Phil, ground clearance is a major concern indeed! I’m gonna see just how bad it is when I fit it, but I’m thinking I may have a custom plate/bashguard made up to mount to the cross member that goes between the two sub frames – we shall see! I’d hate to hit it and ruin his hard work.

As well as this is the clearance past the front sub frame – I measured everything up and gave Alan the dimensions seeing as I couldn’t get my car to him. There is about 3.5inches clearance if I cut the flat flange part of it, which I’m hoping is enough, otherwise it’s cutting more and welding a plate in to reinforce, or spend more money and get a nice traction bar instead.

Very tempted for larger rears like Rich’s, but got like a million things to do at the mo, that can wait for later on. I’ll hassle him about his when I’m getting it tuned. Or just sneak off and take a template of his!

Not cheap, but then they’re nice brakes so…
You’re looking at £24 + VAT per caliper = £57.60. The disc bolts were cheap at £12.50 + VAT for both sides. They have all parts for sale individually, just call them, they’re really helpful. Your ones are the same as these aren’t they? They have Billet 4 on them, but are actually the Monster 4 design they have now. You’ll need to give them the size of the pistons – can’t remember off the top of my head, but can check later if you want. Also the bell to discs are mostly 12 bolt now, where as ours are only 10 bolt. So make sure you state this when getting new bolts. Plus ordering new discs state the 10 bolt too, it’s not an off the shelf disc any more. You have to send them your old ones and they make custom – but it was slightly cheaper.

Yeah, yeah, I know I need to trim down a little – the delights of all those years hitting weights and feeling quite big and then stopping going to the gym. Between getting back into Riding the last few weeks, my indoor climbing and the hiking we’ve been doing I’m hoping it’s a little more comfortable now. Not had the guts to check yet.

See above on the manifold. As for ceramic coating, not contacted anyone yet. It’s not on the cards straight away as I havn’t got the time – but maybe in the future. It looks too damn nice to coat though!

Oh and before Phil chimes in...yes, I know you questioned about a larger TB and I said I wouldn't bother. But by the time other mods came on the scene with the time I've dragged it out, it seemed like a bit of a weak link in the breathing system.

Went for a 68mm CNT TB, comes with a new TPS too. Looks real nice for what I paid including delivery (about £84).

Yep! Not bad eh?
Well actually, I just remembered it was about £65 + £55 postage = £120 delivered. But had about £36 sitting in my Paypal from some wheeling and dealing! Still £120 delivered for a 68mm with a new TPS and gasket is still a bargain!
