Has anyone actually checked insurers yet for roll cage additions, I thought the likes of Chris Knott didn't touch them, imagine other wouldn't as a result???

That lude on their site looks interesting, I wonder who owns it?

thats devils old car from PUK, the new owner of the cage seems impressed!

i wasnt really overly bothered about the FIA regs TBH, i want it purely for saftey !

People always bring up FIA approval - absolutely no need and is totally irrelevant unless planning to run in an FIA run national or International motorsport event. For any cage to get FIA approval takes an awful lot of testing and then will only be approved and given FIA papers for the cage design and construction if the cage is then installed by FIA aproved installer.
Very few bolt in cages have ever been given FIA approval but this has nothing to do with the fact that they are bolt in!!!.

Any cage worth it's salt - weld in or bolt in will be designed and built to meet MSA cage regulations (which pretty much mirror FIA tech regs anyway). Cages can only then be approved at scrutineering. Some cage installers will give a cage certification but that's still no gaurantee as regs do change (as they have done several times over the last couple of years). These regs changes are mostly to weed out some of the import cages (cusco etc) that have rediculous dash dodging bends in them and small diameter tube.

If you want to know anything about the tech specs of cages then the best option is to look up the "blue book" on MSA website - this will cover everything you need to know.

Cages DO NOT have to go through to front turrets at all for any MSA salonn car race event.

Main items to be sure of is cage tube material and size, bends and mounting feet plates - I'll not go into all that here.
