cutting my 1/4miles times.
i drag my lude every now and again, and i was hoping to hit 15 seconds dead or below yesterday, but the best i managed was 15.19. thats about 0.2 of a second faster then my best last time, but not the improvement i was hoping for after installing robs chip.
i have a tanabe limit ax mani, a hollowed out cat (i think, havent checked but emmisions test would indicate so), aem cone intake, stripped out boot, carbon bonnet, 2ws conversion, short shift adaptor.
my plans for the next drag meet are to swap out the bosch super 4s (yeah yeah, i know!!) for ngks platinums and fabricate a cold air funnel to the air filter from either the vents in thw front bumper (so i can run it all the time, maybe with something to close it over when its wet) or through a modified headlight.
im tempted to strip out the interior and just have a single bucket seat fitted, but i want it to be a road car still too.
can anyone suggest any other affordable mods i could be making to improve my times? im not wanting to spend a lot on it at the moment as i dont have the money, so im hoping for little things to try before possibly going down the boost route when i have the money.
cheers!

didnt think of the tyre pressures thing! it feels like its producing torque right up to the redline, but im guessing its not optimal? whats the best way of finding out where to change? practice and feel or getting it on a rolling road?lewd lude lover wrote:tire pressure. lower the front pump the rear.
only stay in gear as long as you're producing torque.
warm engine but cold engine bay/intake temps...
i really like my interior though! lol. i think im gonna strip it for the next drag meet and see how i get on with it for a couple weeks.GreenyUK wrote:As you've said mate. Weight! Just strip as much as you can. There will be a time were you have to choice road car or drag/track car

NGK plugs should do wonders over the Bosch. You'll be going from the worst plugs for our engines to one of the best.
Are you sure your cat's not just at the end of it's life? Not many hollow out a cat, and if they did you'd end up with a swirl effect which would hinder the cars breathing somewhat. Best get a proper decat on there.
4 bolts and your passenger seat will come out. That's some serious instant, temporary weight-saving right there

Re: cutting my 1/4miles times.
Let me know when your next going buddy if like a go at this,
I take it you completely empty your boot before you go as well ? Spare wheel, jack, subs just removing the rear seats won't save you much weight unfortunately,
If you seriously want to save weight then it's a total strip I'm afraid as the easy thing to remove don't weigh that much other than the passenger seat,

imho you cant take your road car on the strip with passenger seat and everything out of the boot and still call that time honest. For me the strip is a place to find out what I could do in a traffic light situation. As such you need the car to be as close to normal road going conditions as you can possibly be. That means all the extra you would normally carry. For sure do a run or two with everything removed but only as a comparisson to the real time you can get with the car 'honest' as it were.
you really nreed to rolling road to get an idea of torque production.
