how to adjust idle on h22a7

Post by Monceris » Fri Aug 22, 2014 8:20 am

Hi every one,

Just finished with a swap from h22a2 to h22a7 in my 4 gen.
It is a complete h22a7 swap with ATR intake manifold and throttle body.
h22a7 is converter to OBD1, distributor, fuel injectors and fuel rail, from my old h22a2 engine.
Just added knock sensor. Running on P13 JDM ECU.
Engine runs fine, not cell light, expect I am having problems with the idle, it is quite high.
When I start a cold engine, rpms are 1.8k (so it is normal for a cold start), after it starts to warm up, rpms are increasing to 2.0k and later to 2.4k
As I know there is no idle adjusting screw on h22a7 throttle body. I am using IACV from my hp4, as it is two wires (IACV from ATR three wires).
So how to adjust idle on h22a7 :)

A standard P13 ECU isn't going to know how to handle an ATR inlet manifold unfortunately. In order for it to work properly you'll need something like Hondata in a P28 ECU or Chrome or a standalone engine management to be able to fine-tune it.

Plans for the future is to get P28 and tune it.
Idle is steady, it is not jumping.
Is it possible to reduce rpm while running on P13?

This is odd though? Do they have a FITV?

Ok quick update.
Today I have found that throttle cable was over tightened, so this is why I got high rpm on idle.
After loosen throttle cable, rpm jumped down, but when the engine getting warmer it is starting to pulsing from 1.2k to 1.8k rpm.
I have disconnected IACV and engine was running better but I got a cell light.
I suspect a vacuum leak.

So best way to find a vacuum leak is to spray carb cleaner? Any other advises?
Thanks
