Having lived in Florida, I can agree with how quickly the legal highs are produced and just how easy they are to obtain. All of my local gas stations with a convenience store attached sold incense, bath salts, plant food, spice, extracts etc... and they're ridiculously good value for money. It was $4 for a 4g pot of incense, or 3 pots for $10 back when I lived there.

OK, so some of the side effects are a bit rough, and especially when the helicopter room effect kicks in (which everyone always seem to get from incense), I can see how that if someone is already a bit out of it, or disorientated, when everything starts helicoptering, they can get seriously freaked out. Couple this with any pre-existing mental problems, and that's a recipe for disaster!!

I was trying to draw similarities between 'drugs' and 'chemicals 'and how people use and define them, particularly how benzene is known to be highly carcinogenic and you wouldn't go ingesting it, yet many people forget that same ring is in THC above and brush it off because "it's from the earth man so it's safe". Not preaching either btw, just posting for clarity

I was trying to say that I understand the risk of conventional illegal drugs, where as these new drugs I don't even know the effect its going to have..

That's why I smoke roll ups. I know more about what is in them. Whenever I smoke a tailor made that someone offers me, I can taste all the chemical crud that's in there and it makes me dry heave on the first drag.


As for helicoptering, imagine that your body feels like it's stationary, and that everything is spinning one direction, and your brain is spinning in the opposite direction. That's why it's called "helicoptering". I got lost for 5 minutes or so going from my couch to my kitchen when experiencing helicoptering, and it was all in the same room, literally just 8 foot forwards and 3 foot to the right!! I'd never had incense before that, and I certainly won't have it again, and talking to pot head friends of mine in FL (pretty much everyone smokes weed in the area of FL I lived), they all had the same thing.

Completely get the taste factor you mention - I had a tailor the other day and had the same reaction, along with why the drokk has this burnt off so quickly - but don't fool yourself into thinking it's significantly healthier to smoke roll-ups! If anything I consume more roll-ups than I would tailors and I certainly pack them more. 1:1 ratio though you're just saving money rather than your health. IMO it's the paper that makes more of a taste/chemical-perception difference, even switching from silvers to blues or greens and it changes, for me at least.
