Where is the starter motor?
And how hard do i whack?

Yes - the car tries to turn BUT does not turn over.
Plenty of power/electric ...

It's the twin cylindrical looking thing bolted to your gearbox. Whack it hard enough ;-) Not too hard that you dent it.

So does it sound like your starter is just spinning (I higher pitched spinning noise to normal)?

Any chance of a clear sounding video of it happening?

Solution... Just keep the camera in the car and turn it on before you turn the key each time ;-)

If it is the main relay at fault and you want to test it, put the heating up to max and direct it into the footwells. Get the inside of the car as hot as you can before trying to restart the engine. Listen for the fuel pump.
