cant see any probs with those times mate. A nice sunny day and no headwind and see a good margin taken off. Maybe a high 14 or two.
If you want 13's buy a different car :geek:

Chasing strip times is a never ending mission.

Best 1/4r mile time i have heard of on this forum was a guy who had a stock BB4 (mIlano red)who did a 13.9 this surprised quite a few people. I had some 1/4r mile timing stubs from santa pod that came with my old UKDM BB1 fully loaded breaker and it was doing high 14's. It had a few minor mods and had been tuned with Apexi VAFC.
You might want to look at getting some lightweight 15" wheels as this can improve acceleration ;)

high 14s is what i was hoping for this time round. i know its silly as its not a drag car at all, but its nice to know all the work im putting into the car is making a positive difference, which it didnt seem to have the other day.

Yeah gonna source a couple of 15s and whack some chunky drag tyres on to see if that helps.

At the end of the day it could just be that im rubbish at driving!

Iridiums are fine, I have them in my road car.

The 4G ECU will use the base timing you have set and automatically advance timing from that point. I have never played about with it much so dont know what it may yeild. If you think it has made a difference it probably has (provided you set base timing properly ie shorted the service connector etc..)

The main problem is my mate in his pretty much stock ep3 getting a 14.96!

Yeah service connector was bridged. Defenitely made a differece. When timed to the mark it felt sluggish when going from a cruise at around 3.5k rev to slamming on the gas, like a bit of hesitation. After advancing the timing it was a lot tighter under the same conditions. But feel isnt very scientific so I dont know what kind of differemce t has made.

yeah im gonna see how i get on with this head with the atr stuff in it, then mappable ecu, then atr intake a TB, then NOS. sound like a good plan of action?

Nope! Fit the ATR head with IM & TB at the same time, then map it all to run properly first time. Else you'll be paying out £250+ for each tune and only feeling slight changes. Whereas you can save £250+ by getting it tuned once and having one noticable change ;)

And if you're seriously considering NOS, get the ports done for the NOS on the IM before you fit it the first time. Then you don't have to remove the pain in the ass to modify it after, which will also put your car out of action for longer.

EDIT: And absolutely nothing wrong with NGK Iridiums by the way. An otherwise identical engine running Platinums will not out perform one with Iridiums. Platinum just last longer, but then they're more expensive, so...

I have seen lots of lude vs ep3/fn2 races down the strip with mainly stock cars and the lude has won every time 8-)
I also have run down the strip many many times and so have many friends of mine, and 90% of the hard part is getting a good start, no matter what car you have, the rest of it is pretty easy as long as you don't miss a gear lol

p.s. I am TERRIBLE at my starts, even the missus has beaten me

That must get really annoying for the organisers and drivers wanting to race
