just for closure, this was cured by the recently re-done Valve Clearances (again!)

Really? :? I wouldn't have though clearances would cause the block to shake like that :?:

yeh it seems that way, I think it's because of his suspected head gasket problem the VC's were thrown that much out it caused it to overfuel massively as well as it stank of fuel and ran like a dog, plus used crap loads of fuel. The VC's are done but its only a temp fix, we will get his head rebuilt after JF. he gets some pops and bangs atm sometimes so I think his dizzy is on its way out - got a spare hopefully arriving soon so we'll swap it over, otherwise could still be his o2 sensor needs replacement.
