Main rear seal. Might as well do clutch and flywheel at the same time. And a full mfactory gearbox. If you doing that then rebuild the engine. Oh then just collect parts and get another car and build that.

I am pretty sure the main seal is leaking on my 4th gen, not the circular seal around the crank but rather the seal that goes round the plate.

When I changed my flywheel over the inside of the gearbox housing was manky with oil and and had contaminated the clutch plate too. At the end of this season everything that hasn't already been changed in there will be swapped out and the seal done as well.

Pic of the end of my crank and the main seal plate after I cleaned all the crud off.

Exactly what I'm having done. I can warrant the cost easier if both are being done at the same time :) Fitting a lighter flywheel too ;)
I was stupid not to fit a new fly wheel really but iv got the ATR box to go on soon so I'll be puttting one in then.

Oh buggerations, more money that needs spending. Had a hefty bill last month by having the rear balance shaft drive gear housing replaced (along with belt), costing £530.76. And had a torn driver's side steering rack boot replaced today for £85.00.

Oh well, looks like an excuse to slightly prematurely replace my Exedy clutch after only nearly 63,000 miles.

I get the impression that the ATR clutch is recommended by most here? I already have a Fidanza aluminium flywheel.
