Help finding Tyre Valve Stems

I've got a slow leak from one of my wheels and it's suspected to be the valve, so I could do with a replacement. Only trouble is I don't want to be paying $15 each plus shipping as I'll want to get 4 really, as looking at my spare they're all going to need replacing soon enough.

This is what I've got...

... So they're not standard. The two 14mm diameter seals are the important thing (Although I'm sure I could get away without the outer seal with the right valve).

The hole is about 11mm diameter and there's a 14mm recess each side (Which is what the 14mm seals sit in).

I could do with them soon as I'm having to pump up my tyre every two days, so hoping to find some in the UK and for a reasonable amount. I don't want to be waiting until the middle of next month for some from Hong Kong, but I also don't want a set for £3.96 :lol:

Does anyone know of a decent website with some good options?

Are you sure it is the valve and not the seal between the alloy wheel and the tyre. That managed to catch me out with the Soarer. Tyre company went mad trying to find a slow puncture that was getting worse. In the end they cleaned up the inside of the wheel face added some gloop and problem solved!

I had to search around for right angled valves when i was refurbing my PIAA.s and eventually got them off ebay for a few quid. Parts were different but in the end the new ones were a better fit and quality.
There must be something out there thats similar to the part you need and that would do the job

I had a slow puncture recently which turned out to be a thorn. It was on the radius so I had to replace the tyre. Before it was replaced though I was pumping it up every two weeks. At one point the valve stuck open, until I jiggled it about a bit. Then when my tyre fitter replaced the tyre the other day he mentioned the valve to me, saying it was a bit sticky as it had started to corrode/oxidate inside. I was going to just put a spot of oil in it, but in the next two days the tyre was flat again (I hadn't put any oil in it at this point). The tyre fitter says it must be the valve. He's a very good fitter and having experienced the valve sticking open myself I'm happy to conclude it's the valve.

Cheers Nick, they don't look too bad. I'll message them for the dimensions. (That's one reason I've looked straight past a lot I've found... No dimensions).

I bought a tool last night and attempted to remove the core from my spare (Bought some new cores as well). The core unscrewed after leaving it to soak in penetrating oil for a couple of hours, but it's still seized in there. I've brought it to work with me today to find something to punch it out. So I imagine the core sealing surface it going to need quite the clean if I can get in there.

Funnily enough though it does look like the wheel is hold air again. It doesn't look to have gone down since I inflated it two days ago, where as before that I'd had to inflate it the day before.

I'll see how I get on cleaning this spare valve up.

Do you need a narrow spec valve? My Kosei wheels do not use the regular valves but instead use a narrow (I think 6mm) valve.

The valve is about 7mm in diameter (A standard Schrader valve) and that length continues all the was down to the base (it's just not all threaded. The base is then 14mm in diameter.

These valves I've just received have 16.5mm diameter bases (so won't fit in the wheel's recess) and the threaded shank (before the Schrader valve) is about 10mm diameter, so along with the seal won't fit through the wheel's valve hole.

I did try replacing the valve core from my spare original valve, but it all broke up inside and looks to have been an unusual size anyway.

newkid found me genuine WedsSport valves on RHDJapan for half the usual RRP. They're still more than I want to pay, but it looks like I'll have to go this route :roll:
