What power gains should i expect?
I was just off the phone to Elite Motor Performance in Armagh N.I and basically talking about mapping the car. He mentioned that he has done many of hondas, mostly EP3 ssshhhivic's and DC5 tegs and was looking forward to tuning a honda prelude.
Just really looking to know what sort of power gains i could expect, as he did mention that i wont expect big power gains from a N/A engine. So maybe some members could post up what power gains you got (before and after) and what mods you are running.
I have h22a8 with:
Blacktrax manifold
70mm throttle body
AEM V2
AEM fuel rail
AEM fuel pressure regulator
Mugen Exhaust w/ De-cat
What gains should i be expecting?

I got a complete a7 head with an a5 bottom end. CDA intake with CAI, 62mm TB, ATR IM & injectors, ATR cams, mugen exhaust manifold, de-cat, Greddy evo 2 cat back.
Dyno'd at 227.6 bhp but that was with a type s intake so with the CAI should be closer to 230bhp now.
I've heard (LLL) the ATR / a8 cams are good for 240bhp with a couple other mods so you could get to that sort of region.
From Merlins post however, not sure the difference with the ATR intake. Myself and stk both have them so nothing for comparison im afraid.

DOH! I'm clearly being special today, read it as blacktrax TB
You shold be able to get 240bhp from all that. From talking to Rich you'd 'only' be short some cams, injectors & porting work to hitting more like 270bhp - 280bhp.

From what I saw in the OP's build thread I think its a modded OEM manifold.stk prelude wrote:Always thought a Blacktrax manifold was pretty good.. close to a ATR manifold?
The PUK search is Clubbing Eddy

Here is an example of a H/I/E modded and tuned H22a8 that has supplied dyno results:
Flywheel: 225BHP & 164ft/lbs Torque
Wheels: 196WHP & 145ft/lbs Torque
http://preludeuk.forumup.com/viewtopic. ... =preludeuk
While I wouldnt take any of the above as gosbel, I would assusme 220bhp as a rough base figure and who knows what it will make on top of that due to the mods and the specific dyno you'll be on. Unless someone can produce a dyno using Blacktrax manifold (there are a few different types of these manifolds arnt there?) to aid estimation.YellaLude wrote: I think this just re-iterates that fact that the H22A8 is the same power as a Type S H22A, but without even using the JDM ECU. ............ So i now conclude, that a healthy fully working H22A8 should produce 217-220bhp as standard.
If you have a decent aftermarket exhaust manifold good numbers should be achievable IMO.
