Yes to replace the BGW. As much as I like the BGW, it does create a fair amount of drag. If I can find the sweet spot between getting the down force I need at minimal drag I'll be happy.wurlycorner wrote:Is this replace the big wing then? Do you think this will be better than the big wing? More down force but less drag???
My current wing is not adjustable due to the shape of its surface. It only functions properly at a specific angle.4thgenphil wrote:Have u tries messing with the angle of attack on the wing you have?
I have just ordered all the materials so I should have the completed gurney flap in a few weeks. V2 of the gurney flap is to alter the angle of attack on the OEM spoiler, if it is needed.

Going stock - JDM H22a

New engine! It needs - a new timing belt (maybe upgrade to an H23 manual tensioner), oil seals, stripped back, cleaned, painted and have 4th gen bits and other bits from my race engine added to it to make it work.

Plans are to have this installed in February and to have it dyno ran on a UK 4G ECU. If is is down on power I want it to achieve I'll sling the P30 S300 into it.

Re: Merlin's 4G Time Attack Lude

Yeah this is a stand-in engine just for the 2016 season while the race engine gets upgraded (new head, IM, TB, exhaust mani, maybe stroked). Just for next year I will be dropping down into the newly formed "class F" (sub 135 whp/T). It's a nice cheap way to stay competitive as I wont be able to stay in class E next year.
