i was answering to this comment . Ratty was talking about the oil relocation, and that he doesn't see a reason to do this . . . . Not that he doesn't see a reason to use a sandwich plate for sensors . Oh god this is confusing

Ive done a filter relocation on the boosted civic.

The first location was awful, and it messed with the oil pressure sensor reading :(
I had it just sat above the gearbox..

Since then ive relocated it to below the headlight, its at the standard height now and its easier to hide, easier to route the lines from the back of the block to the filter, and a line from the filer to an oil cooler :)

Its still not finished so I can only provide pics once the engine bay is finished :)

An oil filter relocation is convenient for me as im going to be changing the filter alot, its going to be well over 350bhp :p

And as ive got a quick bumper release now, getting to the filter will take less that 30 seconds ;)

Yea no problem. I think the general consensus on locating oil pressure and temp sensors is temp sensor in the sump, and pressure sensor either in the place of the original, or on a oil line from the oem sensor location if you want to keep the oem sensor functional. I have a temp sensor that I will be fitting into the sump soon :D. As for fitting a cooler, then yes, a thermostatic plate would be req I think.

My oil temp and pressure sensors are on a sandwich plate before the filter. They read fine.
