Holy Sagging Bumper Bummer Batman! What To Do?

Post by Greg-SiR » Mon Jan 04, 2016 11:22 am

Seems worse since i had it off to put on the foggies,it was noticeable before but it's taken the biscuit now and the front bumper needs a tummy tuck or whatever's similar in car terms

Everything went back on tight and clipped to the max and i'm not missing and fixings so any tips on how to lift it up and get the body lines back to glory?

Looks worse under the headlight as you can see the plastic screwclips :x

Oh yes and a wet headlight has added to the toothache, one item ticked another added argh!

There's no adjustment in the bumper bar itself, but you can bend it up. The 5th gen is different in that it has an adjustable portion on top to adjust for such a case.

Alternatively you could pack it up with plastic shim or something. I'd attempt to bend it up myself though.

Ive had a go at fixing sagging bumpers front and back many times over the years and i have to admit it something that seems near impossible to do :x seems ok for a week or two then sags back down  might be something to do with other people nudging into the bumpers when parking up next to the lude :? The jdm bumper bars arent very strong

Or if you can't bend the bar up, put some washers between the chassis and the lower fixing holes of the bumper bar. That should raise it slightly.

If you try to bend it up this will most luckily happen

Another option is to find one which was not molested and replace it ( I know it wont be easy but it's possible)

Cheers for the tips fellas,i will try the washers out, think i will pull off the headlight and give it a reseal at the weekend so it will be coming off then.

When it's lifted up it will hold for a bit then eases back.
Only the passenger side too.

It's a good shaped and looked after bumper though in fairness and my second, the original one was :puke:
