I always wondered whether flywheels like these were rebuild able as they look like they're riveted together...or whatever

Yeah, the friction plate is just held on with countersink screws.

Its the one thing that gave me pause when considering them. Wouldnt the holes in the plate promote differential temperatures across the face? Maybe lead to cracking? Didn't stop me but gave me a moments pause.

Holes wouldn't lead to cracking, but would affect how cracks would behave in the event that they occurred.

Shouldn't affect temperature to any degree (ba-dum).

Yea that was one of the best things about the fidanza flywheel is that you can replace the metal plate rather than buying a whole new flywheel

I've had mine fitted since February 2009 without any problems. I had the friction plates replaced last month during a clutch replacement (and LSD installation ;) )
2000 Honda Prelude 2.2 VTi (H22A8 / BB8).
