Agreed with Nate dog, mine looked better superficially when I started and after getting into the detail of it was about on the limits of a reasonable repair, and I did all of the welding myself. I'd hate to think of the cost if you'd be paying labour costs.

that is a shame as much as i hate seeing them going for scrap that does look like the only choice for the shell anyway shame this didnt happen last month as a shell near me went for scrap after being stripped for its engine and gearbox :(
success is the ability to go from one failure to the next without any loss of enthusiasm :D :D

It came out of nowhere really, a little crack in the paint to start with. I scraped the top layer of paint off to expose the rust to treat it and it basically all flaked off and collapsed. Methinks a previous owner knew about this and hid it.

I bet the arches are a flaky mess under the paint too.

Oh well, at least it makes my mind up for me. And truth be told - my heart was never fully in this car anyway.

Nah really, your arches don't look tooooooo bad - the rust appears to be confined to the usual spots. 'Least it doesn't appear to have spread to the sills.
