Hi all, I've owned a few Mitsubishi FTOs over the years, and as much as I love that car I feel like I need a change. I remember an old work colleague many years ago had a 4th gen Prelude and the memory of sitting in it for just 5 minutes stuck in my mind... in the last few days I've been reading about this car and it seems to be reliable, comfortable, fun to drive and affordable to maintain, so here I am. The plan is to read up as much as I can on what this car is all about and learn about what the variants are, then eventually buy one.

Definitely looking for a manual! Already got the family car so this is purely for driving pleasure. Do 4th gens come up for sale much? I've had a look on a few sites and it seems to be mostly 3rd and 5th.Drax wrote:Good choice to upgrade to a Lude![]()
Any 2.2vtec will do you, manuals are generally better than an auto but depends if you want a daily easy cruiser or something to thrash

Did you also happen to read how amazing the Prelude community is as well?
Welcome to the club mate. Good idea to sign up first to get some scope. We're always happy to help, so if you find anything post it up!... If you want
If it's a 4th gen you want then ideally look for an import. They have 197bhp H22a compared to the UKDM H22a2 which has 185bhp.
Prices are going up slowly. I think (hope) they've reached their all time low, so finding an absolutely rust-free lude is likely to set you back over £2000 these days, but finding a rust-free example is also quite difficult in itself now, so be prepared to settle for a doer-upper. The rear arches are the most common areas to rust, then the sills, but theses panels are available.
Anyway, enjoy your search. I always love Prelude shopping
