So updates.
In March i applied some black pearl ceramic tyre shine which should last to 8 months. I applied it to the S660, Prelude and the Van. It will be a goo test as the van does 350miles a week.
Its now 3 months and the Tyre shine is still on the Prelude and S660 but granted the Prelude has hardly moved and its still slick. The vans Tyre shine is there but i kerb the tyres so often but the tyres still look black. It take a while to prep and paint on but worth it.

You mask of the wheel and apply it. These are the TE37s on the S660.

Also raise the vehicles so you can get every inch of sidewall.

What a collection.

I wanted to move the water injection tank and pump to the boot of the car and tidy up the engine bay as there was rust comming through. This i wanted to sort properly as in 2012 i just did a tidy up repair on the rust. SO ill just do the air intake side for now.
So i got the chopping board, pump and relay and move it to this area. Fits like a glove.

The new baffled water tank bolts through the carpet.

Onto the engine bay. I grinded out all the rust, applied Bilt Hamber Hydrate 80 and let cure for 24 hours.

The applied Bilt Hamber electrox to treated areas follwed by Bilt Hamber seam sealer and let set for another 24 hours.

Some 2k high build primer.

Sanded back and base and pearl coats applied the 2k lacquer.

Everything refitted along with a relocated Mishimotot OPIl catch can next to a Mishimiotot coolant reserve to tidy it all up.

Finally the Prelude has been burning a litre of oil every 400 odd miles of so. Its not been running rich doing some very funny fueling, rough idle and drops out of VTEC alot above 6krpm. I put some Insane Driveshafts on it which i didnt get pictures and we did a hot leakdown test. The results were 20% leakdown which Rich at Paw soon said its got to be the piston rings that have failed.
I was aware i much have done the damage myself.
Putting the smaller 2.75" Invidia on and not getting it tuned right away made it run lean and hot which wouldnt have helped, also when i was trying to sort the sticky throttle out i got the map sensor and TPS sensor the wrong way round as they are identical plugs next to each other on this setup, this screwed the map sensor up and it dumped fuel in obviously glazing the cylinder walls and washing the bores.
SO it was off to him.

THE WORST IS YET TO FOLLOW and i was not prepared for this.

I suspect the top of one of the piston is melted if it ran lean? From what I've read of the H22 the bores are super hard (being FRM) and the rings wear out on high mileage especially (but suspect yours isn't that high?).
Either that or your forced to drive the pug 207 in the back ground!

It was rebuilt by PAW 2 years ago. Darton sleeved block, 11.1:1 forged arias pistons, forged rods. Reworked supertech head to lower compression a bit for supercharger.Scott560 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 24, 2019 9:44 amI suspect the top of one of the piston is melted if it ran lean? I'll update tomorrow afternoon after I visit PAW but in a nutshell it's getting another full engine rebuild but in a different direction.

I'm sorry to hear about your engine Ratty, you must be gutted with all the work that has gone into it. I look forward to seeing the rebuild though!
