But seriously how do you do it :? :?:

I either end up driving all over the curb and then as I bring the front in the back pops off the curb and it parks perfectly. Or I keep away from the curb and the rear wheels steer too far away from it as I bring the front in
Talking from complete inexperience here, but should you maybe start slightly further away from the side of the car to be in front, then turn in slightly later than you would a regular car? You'd then come into position with all four wheels still turned, but then bring them back to parallel once you're in position and not still rolling.
Just start the whole manoeuvre at a steeper angle. In any other car I start to bring the front in when the roadside rear light is in line with the car behind. With the Lude I go beyond that, then goto full lock to bring the nose in while the rear turns the opposite way and travels parallel to the kerb as it backs into the space. If that makes any sense at all of course ...

Same difference to how I thought ;-)

It took me 3 attempts to parallel park my Civic the other day, its first time in the Lude, I was coming in at far too steep an angle and the Civic couldn't manage it. The 4WS allows you to make really sharp turns when parallel parking which makes it a doddle :D .

you just gotta re adjust your angles, turning is much tighter

it takes a little while to get used to it again, but should end up being easier than 2ws

The thing I like about parking with 4WS is that you can open your door and look at the rear wheels. They should be parallel to the kerb in the final phase of the turn since the car is effectivley pivoting on them, also it stops you from kerbing your wheels

I nearly crashed into the car I was trying to park behind when I first tried parallel parking in the Prelude. Soon learned to turn into the space later. I always judged where my rear seats were in relation to the car I am trying to park behind. Now I use where I am in relation to the other car (me the driver rather than the car). Once I am near the 3/4 panel I turn in then. Its a much sharper turn in but you get there in the end!

Ahh that makes sense. I'll try not going so far alongside the car in front of the space, and start a bit further away to the side of it to make the turn tighter.

That's the theory, but I've started to balls it all up completely, too!

If it's a really tight space, I'm fine. If not, I become a total spacktard and need a taxi to get to the kerb.

Must be the weather, or something.

The trouble I find is the more you think about it the more likely you are to gentleman's sausage it up. Well I do anyway!

I am having the exact opposite problem with my Type-S

After 7 yrs of 4WS parking i am struggling like hell to park properly. Just as well my new wheels aren't on yet or they would be destroyed

And for the record, parking with 4WS is epic! 3 point turns are a doddle as well. In comparison my S feels like a barge
