Found them!

behind the log burner in the fireplace :?

It was like something out of a cheesy comedy. I had flopped onto the sofa to sulk and piece together my movements in detail. After a few mins of this i laughed in my head as i thought how silly it would be if they were behind the fire. just as my eyes alight upon someting glinting in the corner

seriously, you couldn't write it into a comedy for fear of being told its not realistic enough

My guess is that they got thrust there on sunday when my housemate did the hoovering. If they were on the harth it wouldnt take much to make them fall out of sight. A badly aimed hoover strike sounds plausable....

@jjmartin: sorry to hear that mate. you dont have a fireplace by chance??

Im now going to go spend £20 on VPower to celebrate

When you only had one key, did it not cross your mind to get a spare one cut?!

I've been meaning to do this for years. 3 of my cars only have one key :? I have to do it now

I had bought two genuine Honda blanks off ebay years ago to get cut, but when it came to getting them (or one of them) cut, the cutters wanted more money for cutting my one supplied key, than if I bought one of their crappy looking blanks and had them cut that! ... I turned around and left

I did the same for Rach's old car, bought a blank off ebay and popped into local cutting place. He cut it for free but offered no warranty on it, and if it didn't work then so be it! I was happy, and it did work perfectly!
