Crazy cheap TPS's!

Post by NafemanNathan » Thu Jun 14, 2012 10:45 pm

Almost worth it just for a spare!

Usually these things retail for £40ish+. Not sure you can really go wrong with the quality of a TPS either.

Awesome, nice find there mate :) at that price it's tempting to get 4, replace my 2 current ones (two separate cars before anyone thinks I've gone mental  ) and have two spare

I would be bit worried about quality, and if it lasts

I bought a yonaka one recently for about 40ish I think

Is that why you're worried?

I've ordered one as at that price it doesn't matter if it is rubbish, but I did think there's not really much they can do wrong with a TPS... It doesn't actually do any thinking itself, it purely sends a signal/makes a resistance.

I did have a dodgy OBX one a few years back. Didn't flag up on the ECU that it went bad, but the car just felt crap when pulling off and poor response during tip-in. Took me ages to find the fault. Turned out it was acting like an old crackly volume control. So when I took it off the back fell off coz whatever they used to glue it on with had dried out!

Mine was fine for about a year, I guess the weather or heat got at it. Can't complain really I got what I paid for but I just can't be bothered with having my time wasted by cheap parts anymore
