Sounds daft, but wait for it to do it again before you go replacing/refurbing it. I know a seizing rear caliper is a common thing on a lude, but I've had it happen once on a lude and once on the Aerodeck (front on the Aerodeck) and I mean that it only happened once.
On the lude it happened on a 5 mile journey to work. It was smoking when I got to work. I left it for 8 hours whilst I was at work and that was that... It never happened again.
On the Aerodeck, it was on the way back from Japfest last year. I could feel the front passenger side pulling me to the side of the road on the dual carriage way. So I pulled into the next services and gave the caliper a good old tap or ten with the nut wrench. It unseized it and again it's never done it since.
... Touch wood

my mrs once drove her tyres through the steel bands inside, and somehow it was my fault, apparently i should have noticed, then on another occasion i drove her car (then a ford ka) and noticed under exel the car pulls to the side, infact so badly that when i took my foot off the pedal to slow for a roundabout i nearly ended up in a ditch.
me - how long has it been like this.
her- like what.
me- it drives all over the place.
her- oh that, been like it for ages, its getting worse though.

I had a seized rear caliper which prevented me from getting an MOT, so I took it off, wound the piston out, took some emery cloth to it and then wound it in and out a few times with a pair of water pump pliers to free it up, bolted it back together and got an MOT.
Obviously that's just a temporary fix, but it will stop your rear wheel spontaneously combusting at a petrol station... as that's never a good look

Thx peeps....
Thought I was gonna have 2 pages of useful information, but instead got a page and a half of man-bitching about the GF lool .....
Right well plan then !!!...
Try to drive it again see if its still stuck .... If its still stuck, then whack it a few times with a brace, then take it off and try and unstick it with KY Jelly then last result go get another one !!!
Anyone got a Jack and KY I can borrow ??? lol
