yeh but most blokes aint got no patients  you think i will just see how much he has bid upto and before you know it you are leading, but in reality all you have done is push up the price because the other bidder is going to increase his bid eventually  we all know this is so but still we all do it (exept confused who must have cast iron will power  )
that is why i sometimes use a snipe, it takes the desission making out, and i dont givin to the temptation

To be fair, most blokes aren't in a medical profession ... :poke:

I pick a price, and hit Submit Bid just before the end - that way I don't get into any bidding wars and push the price up for myself!
I do exactly that ^^^, and always add on a couple extra quid or a tenner or so more than I'd ideally want to spend depending on the overall value, plus 99p, because you always kick yourself if you end up being the second highest bidder and the winner only ends up paying £1 more than you wanted to pay. At least if it goes for £10.99 more than you wanted to pay you know it was always going to be out of your price range, and if you end up winning it because of the extra £10.99 then woopy... You'll be happy you won anyway ;-)

this is what a snipe tool does, it will place your max bid at what ever time you set, i usually set it at 5 sec to go

It can't account for you changing your mind at the last minute or to increase your bid when you've seen it's already gone beyond your maximum though ;-) May work for some people, but it certainly isn't better than the thrill of bidding yourself ;-)

Exactly. I'm an eBay addict and it's half the fun.
