Test drove a Prelude today

Banter goes here, and doesn't have to be Lude related

Test drove a Prelude today

Post by nickyboy » Mon Aug 13, 2012 6:05 pm

A K reg 2.3 in red, automatic with 90,000 on the clock. It was quite eager to be driven, moving off it felt it was going to be fast, which it kind of was, but I was still hoping for VTEC.

The auto gearbox was fine, quick changes. I liked it more than I thought it would.

In the 2.2, can you redline an auto in sports mode?

He wanted £1400, he talked himself down to £800 but I still didn't want it, got my heart set on a JDM 2.2

Lovely shaped car, was great seeing one and getting back in after over 10 years.

Yeah it was good seeing one in the flesh and not my laptop.

No way, as I type this, Fay Ripley as the guest in a car on Top Gear talks about her Honda Prelude! Freaky haha

I'd say at least you've finally sat in one... But it wasn't even the right bloody model!

Definitely hold out for the right spec... It took me 5 Preludes before I got the one I wanted ;-)

Yeah to be honest Nathan I had no intention of buying it, but it was someone at work so it was a chance to sit in the old girl and see if I still enjoyed it. It felt as low as ever, not far off the ground, as a good car should be.

The electric aerial was noisy though, is that normal?

I'm seriously considering importing one from Japan, but flip me it's expensive, not much change from around 4 grand for an early 4th gen

I'd hold out for one here, that's alot of money personally.

Aerial may have worn inners, is it doing the classic clicking - sounds like a shotgun?

It is alot more money, and I'm holding out, there's just not so many on the roads anymore I guess.

Em, just a continious gridning noise until it was fully extended/reduced.
