Yeah just ring them, they issue a credit and it appears in your bank normally 3 to 5 working days iirc.

Also ask them to reduce your monthly payments to a figure based on roughly what your annual bill is divided by 12.

I've just checked my account......I'm £31.96 debit at last bill (start of this month).

Here's thinking my monthly DD payments may be increased soon!!

We were over a couple of hundred quid in credit and they wrote to us saying they were putting our monthly payments up due to the increase in the unit price. Twats.

Well for some reason our water bill has gone from £40/m to £103/m and nothing has changed regarding our water usage.

I did this in June. I wrote my supplier an email explaining the situation and requesting my money back. Within a couple of days I had a reply mail explaining the money would be within my account within days and they cut £35 off my bill p.c.m. Its your money - its your right to have it in your account rather than theirs and they will refund you back almost immediately ;)

Well I had the most disappointing phone conversation this afternoon. All set to claim the £544.17 I didn't know I had until early this afternoon back, and also ask to reduce my monthly payments, I was only informed that that money was the money accumilated monthly from myself since the last bill to pay the next bill, which coincidentally was collated today! Turns out, the online side of things doesn't necessarily update for up to 72 hours

Does seem a very strange way of doing things, so I will be checking back online in the the next couple of days to check this is the case. Turns out I am in credit though... But only by £5 something, and my monthly bills had already been adjusted to go down by £6, so that's something at least.

Just keep an eye on it. I work for a utility company and they are trying ti be squeaky clean at the moment due ti customer confidence in them and ofgem breathing down their necks so won't be any probs getting your money back if needed.
I'm currently over £300 cred in gas and£200 in elec but do this on purpose by keeping ny dd intentionally high over the whole year, it spreads out the usage so no nasty bills in winter. Any cred left next Apr/May I'll have back!
