Power Steering Upgrade
Power Steering Upgrade
Just remembered a converstion I had at the rolling road from LLL's meet with a teg owner. He's do a conversion on the powersteering to a system from a smaller car, civic I think it was, which I think was a smaller powersteering system which freed up a few horses.
Has anyone heard of doing this for the prelude or even done it?

I can't really see it being worth it. Removing PS from a lude altogether isn't going to give you a worth while increase, so going through the ordeal of switching to a system which meets in the middle certainly won't be worth it for the performance gain.
There are a few electric systems out there to look at if you wanted though.

How much power does the power steering set up rob from the engine?
Also, how much does removing the power steering system affect the steering? My Accord has all the power steering fluid drained at the moment, the steering is still surprisingly light for such a large car though. It's easier to steer the Accord without the power steering than it is my Mk2 Golf!
