Either find someone breaking a 5th and get them to rip the metal tabs off and then bond them to your lining with sikaflex

or

pop the clips into the roof lining blob some sikaflex on the bottom and refit the roof lining with something to support the lining until it sets, then next time you remove it the clips should hopefully stay stuck to the roof lining.

I think you need the metal plate to bridge the gap between the roof linning and the metal. And the clips slide into the plastic.

Yer iv seen it. But i like my red roof linning as it is. Plus the yanks are fat fuckers :lol: ....
Anyway iv just been out to the car and i still have 1 spare clip and plastic plate. Im going to JBweld the drokk out of it tomorrow once iv put the thinsulate deadening in. That should hold it in.

Yes, so if you bond the clips onto the lining just add a spacer to take up the slack.

But just getting some spare tabs and re-sticking is the best option.

What's JBweld btw? I need to fix a plastic catch in the boot of my Golf but no plastic cement will bond it strong enough, is this stuff better?
