Yeah you dont need the resontaor anymore, its dead weight. The resonator is there to reduce induction noise and increase engine torque at low revs when the OEM intake is installed. At 5K rpm the butterfly valve in there opens allowing air into the 2nd chamber.
You can rip it out. Follow the vacume line up into the engine bay to a little control box that sits under the intake behind the battery box, you can remove this control box as well. Then blank off the vacume hose that goes up to the intake manifold, you can put a screw into the hose
