H22a Piston Limits

Post by NafemanNathan » Wed Nov 07, 2012 10:37 pm

Does anyone know the new and service limits of the H22a pistons?

The 4th gen manual & suppliments in Wiki aren't working and the first 4th gen manual download only has limits for the F20A, F22A & H23A.

I'd say the limit was to stay within the cylinder. Any further than that and you're fooked!

I'm here all week......given that there's only a couple of days until the weekend, that's probably for the best!

Mmm-K, so I had the 93 Service manual saved on my work's computer, so I have established that...

Now is the H22a exactly the same as the H22a1 and can the H22a be either an "A" or "B" here as well?

I think I knew this along time ago, but can't recall now and don't fancy the hearsay sprawled all over the rest of the net :?

Probably... I followed that manual when doing my H22A2 and it all seemed to match up. I had A and B pistons. IIRC the wear was so minimal to the bores after 160K miles it was funny. The piston skirts were a below spec tho.

That's rubbish, can't believe Honda have pulled them from the site :(
