4th gen - Stripped, big brakes and now boost!

Post by nelly08 » Sun Nov 11, 2012 8:06 pm

Hi guys. Been on here for a while and thought it's about time I get a progress thread going.
I bought the car from my brother, Nellerz, around a year ago from now I would guess! I drove it for a few months enjoying it, but then got abit bored!
I went out and got myself (from this forum), and AEM series 1 standalone ECU, went out for a late night mapping session and a tank + half later I had myself a car that became a-little more fun! I would hazard a guess that we went from 218hp to around 240 ish! I then drove the car for another couple of months and got abit bored again so came off the road!
In this time I have;
Ordered a turbo package (will be arriving Thursday now customs charges are all paid).
Had a custom rear diffuser made up.
Almost finished cutting the insides from my spare intake manifold to flow more air.
Stripped the rear of the car including centre consol.
Stripped some of the rear wiring loom out, and wired the rear fog light into the factory plugs etc so no aftermarket crappy wiring.
Moved all the centre consol switchs to below the radio.
Collect all the parts to put my battery in the boot (other than the battery box as this is being custom made for me) and started wiring all that up.
And today I picked myself up a front set of K Sport 6 pot brakes with 12" rotors.

I will upload some pictures when I actually take some within the next week ish! :D

Ps I will be buying a new front lip that actually fits (or just remake this one as a temp measure... not sure!)

Possibly...
And yeah no doubt you did meet him! Rust has sort of hit in again since in the archs and sun roof... but the sunroof is planned on going in the bin, and plan on a respray at some point so will do the arches soon to stop them getting worse... but not too worried about the paint finish so will do them myself lol.
And the diffuser is just a universal style one - Nothing special as such but need something to help the air flow around that parachute effect rear bumper that Honda made with there wisdom!

Very nice build, not a million miles off of your brothers (I assume it’s Sam?).

But one thing…oi! They’re my brakes!

Ah you win some, you loose some.
Looks like you’ll use them for good intentions.

Also, how long did it take to mill the intake manifold out into the four large runners? I’ve seen it done a few times in the states and it would be perfect for my build, just don’t have tools. I asked Pete who you bought the brakes off – I know he does this kind of stuff, so wondered whether he may have done it for you?

Also, how are you painting the interior? Just spray cans in sections?

And they were mine before that! I wonder how many others feel this way, without so much as having even seen them in the flesh?
