Engine rebuild

Post by A1ex » Sat Feb 04, 2012 3:51 pm

So, I dropped the lude off at PAW for my rebuild yesterday which is finally started :) ended up in a bit of a bind already which Rich has helped sort 8-)

They will be working their magic while I'm away and I'll be coming home to my new revitalise lude :D

It's having a stripped and rebuilt full ATR head including IM & TB, piston re-ring, and a good S300 tune with the type s air box, mugen mani, evo 2 exhaust and de-cat. Also getting the ATR front brake set up fitted with Ferodo DS2500 pads & some of PAW's special front discs ;)

I'm sure Rich will take lots of pictures of their handy work so will get these up when it's done :)

Sounds like a lot of work, how much (roughly) is this costing you?

Should be awesome when it's done 8-)

I'm hoping so :) I've got my fingers crossed for 230bhp but will be happy with anything past 220bhp which should be realistic on Rich's expert advice.

As for cost, from start to finish including all of the parts and labour there isn't much change form £5k

EDIT: all includes intake and full exhaust as well as the rebuild parts

Apparently I cant count, so I've just added it up again

it's just over 4k, or just under 5k if you include to cost of buying the actual car

I picked it up for £775 on 92k with a FHSH and sold my old one on 161k with a patchy service history for £700 :)

Body work and paint is much better on the new one although the back left arch is bubbling a bit :(

Unfortunately the new one is burning oil but was planning a rebuild on the old one anyway so just had to bring things forward a bit.

Drool!!!! Sounds like it will be a flier. Sounds very similar to 4thgenphil's build, he got mid 220's from his. Your lower comp might hinder you a little (assuming to have an H22a5). PAW will no doubt work thier magic 8-)
