@pushki: these are called 'driving skills' they are what you develop if you intend to be anything other than mediocre at driving. It has nothing to do with driving fast. infact i would say that heeltoe is a skill employed to make travel smoother.
These skills are used by people who want to go further in their understanding of the machine and their communication with it. that you DONT know how to do this very basic control manouver worries me right back at you I am afraid.

Its like if you had a home PC. you like your pc as it came in the box and you run it EXACTLY as they tell you in the book.

this is fine but dont get annoyed when NOTHING new happens in the computer world.
It takes other, more adventurous, people to start cracking code and creating new skills.

Think you might have over reacted there LLL. I'm pretty sure Pushki just had the wrong understanding of what heel & toeing actually is. As if you don't know (which is easily understandable), then yes, it sounds a little bit "Too Fast Too Furious" ;-)

I do want to learn heel & toe but I find the pedals in my track Lude too far apart to do it properly with my feet. Although, it is a bit easier in my 5th as I have fake Mugen pedal covers fitted, I should get a set for my 4th. I do understand the theory behind high prm downshifting making the car unstable, but in the Lude it is not the case. I regularly downshift at high rpm's at diferent speeds on track and the car does not seem to mind. Yes when I have been a little too eager to change down the nose fo the car does dip, but nothing to make the car break traction (even in the wet).

The real reason I want to learn heal toe is all due to my new clutch I'll be using. At knockhill the first 3rd of the circuit is perfect for left foot breaking if your car has enough grunt

As I drove to work this morning I concentrated on my personal technique, turns out I was wrong, I though I rolled my foot so the laces touch the throttle, but I actually twist my heel around and roll my foot only slightly. Once it become second nature you don't even realise your technique. Like our hand position on the gear knob, we all do it but I bet most of us couldn't describe exactly how we hold it when shifting.

Okay, I've just checked it out on YouTube and it's not as bad as I thought.
I thought it was that 'technique' where you used the clutch foot to brake.

I still think that you're all wannabe race drivers and stuff like this has no place on the public highways. :poke:

*I'm sure Miss Daisy used to drive until she got too old and had to employ Morgan. :?

Which proves that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing! :P

Look, I'm sure there are people that drive like tits and way too fast, using techniques they are no good at, but I'm not one of them.
I like DRIVING, not necessarily speed. I have never had a ticket, not even an SP30 and I've only been pulled over once, because the headlight had decided to stop working, after a quick whack it was fine.

So I'd appreciate us not all being tarred with the same brush thanks!
