That's left foot braking, which I do as well but that's force of habit from my American classics where I had to keep the revs up in the cold to prevent stalling.

Heel and toe for normal driving where I'm not pushing the brake very hard, and don't really want to make a racket by blipping the throttle doesn't work for me.

But when I'm braking hard so the brake pedal is more level with the accelerator, and I don't care how loud I am, giving the revs a good blip with the heel/side of the foot before dropping down a gear comes naturally now. A lightweight flywheel really helps too.

Be careful trying this on public roads, especially without ABS. If you've never done it before, you're using your brake foot to do 2 things at once. If you start to skid, it will be harder/take a fraction longer to correct it until you've got the experience. There's also more of a chance you'll select the wrong gear and blow the engine up!

I'd appreciate us not all being tarred with the same brush thanks!
Sorry bennyboy, no offence to you, but where do you guys get these ideas from?
It's not from driving lessons with BSM when you're 17. :?
I'm guessing it's from watching race cars on the TV. I don't know! I don't watch sports.

What's the issue with race derived ideas?

Where do you think double wishbone suspension that's on all lude as standard was developed?

I'm not speaking for 'us guys', they can wipe their own arses, I'm speaking for me.
It's from having an interest in something. I play the guitar too, never had lessons, had an interest in it and taught myself to play how I wanted to.
I want to clarify something here - I AM SAFE ON THE ROADS - I have lost a family member in a car accident so I'm not even going to get into all that.
Before I lived where I do, I used to have to do a lot of driving in the early hours of the morning when the roads were deserted. It was the perfect time to learn stuff like this - I DID NOT SPEED TO DO IT - I just used the empty roads where I was not going to endanger anything but my pride..

I have no probs with you having an opinion mate, but I would like it to be an informed one - when someone that has admitted they don't actually know what heel toe is, is telling me I'm a bad man for doing it then. :?:

I wouldn't tell you about turning a light switch on or off 20 times or cleaning your car with a cotton bud
