ive been thinking about changing the bonnet back for a while, and i'm glad i did 8-) i think the cf bonnet is better suited for a track lude, or a lude with more carbon bits tbh ;)

Interior swap complete, transparent dizzy cap, fluid changes

Post by mills » Tue Jun 04, 2013 10:33 pm

I finally managed to get a bit of time to pop over to @rob quilter's and finish off our interior swap. unfortunately my red dash never made it into robs Lude because of the accident :( but the swap went ahead as planned, and now my interior is finished 8-) from a full red interior to this -

I'd just like to say a big thanks to Rob for having me for the day, and for giving me his steering wheel and gear knob, as they were in MUCH better condition than mine. And a big thanks to Rhian for the coffees and sausage & bacon rolls :P

after reading a thread about transparent dizzy caps, and checking out the link for a red 1, I thought I would see if they did blue 1's to. so I had to get 1 of these :P

its a nice addition to my bay, just need a few blue hoses now

also bought these a while ago -

so after receiving a delivery from opie oils, I thought I would slap them on along with fresh engine and gearbox fluids. drained the engine oil, filled back up with fresh shell helix 10/40, let it idle for a bit, drained that, and then filled it back up with more helix. then drained the gearbox oil, and filled it back up with about 1.9 litres of Amsoil MTF.

after the oil change, I seem to be getting better MPG :P and my gearbox has always felt good, but has recently developed a bit of 5th gear crunch at high revs. the gearbox still feels great, but I haven't tested it for 5th gear crunch yet. I think i'll make a few more journeys and hopefully the Amsoil will work its magic
