Cheers Lucas :)

Roughly?... I've paid £6,203.09 for everything Prelude I own taking into account what I've sold and postage costs as well ;-) Not bad really for what I've got... Good old ebay! :p ;-)

Annoyingly I'm a little bit anal when it comes to things like that. I've got a bit of a condition :?

Here's an unclear idea of how bad I've got it (the bottom end of my Prelude costings spreadsheet) ...

(LB) New Wings West Replica Eyebrows & Brembo 4 Pot Calipers

Post by NafemanNathan » Tue Feb 07, 2012 1:37 pm

Well a few more bits arrived this week ;-) Seems when I can't actually work on the car, I have to buy stuff for it instead :? I think I should move closer to the equator... It'd be cheaper

Anyway, I had been modding a set of pre-facelift nostrils, removing the central slat. This was obviously going to require a bit of filling, but also without the central slat, having steep sides and not being that deep, they were actually allowing you to be able to see right inside. I didn't want this, so there was going to be a lot more painstaking sculpting required if I was going to be happy with them... Until these popped up on ebay for a unrefusable price the other day...

They're obviously replicas, but they should tie in nicely with my Wings West kit ;-)

As you know from a couple posts back, I've batantly got a shed load of performance upgrade parts to fit which should hopefully make the lude go a whole lot faster, but so far I've all I've done for my stopping power is paint my calipers Kawasaki green :?

Trouble with "upgrading" to the obvious Legend twin pot caliper or even the NSX's alu jobs if you can find either of them, is they're still not gonna give you "great" stopping power. Any big brake kits out there generally require 17" rims minimum and a lot of money. I like my 16s and my money, so instead I thought I'd take a bit of a gamble and try something a little different...

They're Brembo 4-Pots , as seen on the Lamborghini Diablo, Ferrari Maranello, Skyline GTR, a bunch of Maseratis and a couple of BMers ;-) They should do the trick if I can get them to fit.

And to my surprise, they're a lot closer to the OEM caliper size than I expected, which is good as I was intending to use OEM 282mm disc size :)

Image

They're slightly deeper, but on a quick inspection I have enough room to design a nice sturdy adapter bracket, and it looks like it should be a piece of p!ss 8) ...

This is why I'm after a front hub assembly, so as I can measure and mock-up with ease... Inside the house ;-) ... Anyone!

Like you say, shouldnt be too hard to fit them. I wonder if the master cylinder can provide enough fluid to move the extra pistons though....

what are they actually made for ?
