Seconded on the old Nissan Micra. I thoroughly enjoyed thrashing one for a while. A small car that wasn't trying to feel like a big car.

It wasn't a great car, but I had an epic drive once in a 1.4 Astra across the Wiltshire countryside and beyond. I was in a rare "feck it" mood and, chasing the setting sun with the player on loud and windows open, welded leather to the floor for about 90 minutes.

I don't feel I've had any really bad courtesy cars, because I just like trying new stuff anyway. :D

Trust me, the Wiltshire countryside is infinitely more fun in a Prelude/ATR than it is in an Astra. :)

Some great comments on here, making me smile :-)

I think the ford dashboard yoghurt pot theme and back pain seats must be standard ford. It was 35 miles home in the fiesta last night and about half way through I realised my lower back was really starting to hurt in a really uncomfortable way! And today I have scared myself in the fiesta with its lack of grip in the wet and strange noises coming from the rear suspension. Lost the back end a couple of times going fairly slowly in second gear round some bends that the lude will do at twice the speed without so much as a wobble. Having made it to work alive, just about!, I was then the laughing stock of the office with my porsche fiesta  I've heard all the quips today including accusations that I'd only rented the cayman for a month.

I still think the 107 may have been my worst. Best has to be a red Audi A3 when my old car was in for service although I expect to better that when I part company with £610 for the caymans next service :o

Micras must be popular, I declined one offered by a body shop while my audi was being repaired last year. I was tempted until the bloke described it as a little roller skate and that did it for me. I made the insurance rent me something which (and I'd probably tempted fate with my micra snobbishness) turned out to be a gutless 1.2 corsa with no specification of note apart from a bizarre heated steering wheel! Totally confusing as I thought these were reserved for high end Mercs etc. I'm lucky enough to regularly get some very nice hire cars for work so it makes up for all these other lemons!

Only recently had a 63 plate Astra 1.6 SRi with just 1500 miles on the clock. A comfy car, but that's as far as it went.

Sounds like you're having fun with that Fiestie

Are you sure that Corsa heated wheel wasn't the result of an electrical problem :?

My mate sometimes used to get a 911 when he took his Boxster in for a service.... not sure if he hung around and made passing comments wondering about an upgrade... ;)

How did you make him understand that? Through the medium of interpretive luurve?
