cant use the whole engine because of the ATTS, it bolts onto the block, so i'd have to have a blanking plate slapped on there. I believe the s-spec has an M2Z4 gearbox. I have an M2T4 which apparently has the same ratios :?:

as far as I know, the whole engine was sound and pulled well.
Yeah can't the ATTS be removed and blanked off like Phil suggested?

the type s head will give minimal gains for the £££ it'll cost to swap the head, imo its a bit of a waste
I did consider that 1st, but I thought it would be less work to swap the heads rather than a full engine swap. it shouldn't cost me too much to have the work done. my cousin in law is a Honda mechanic so he will be doing this for me. the expensive part is gonna be changing other things while the head is off, ie cambelt etc. but again, will get whatever I need, genuine Honda parts, at cost 8-)

A full engine swap would be way easier than swapping heads over pluss you will get those nice 11:1 pistons ;) and timing belt etc can be done on the type s engine before it goes ingetting the blanking plate maybe your only problem
I hit the limiter in my h23 vtec still didn't kick in

i'd have no idea where to get a blanking plate from, or if there is even someone who makes them :?:

really don't fancy pulling my engine tbh, but couldn't I also swap the pistons over while the head is off :?:

Yeah, that was a question as to whether or not you'd consider doing it or not

;-)

I don't even know what the ATTS unit looks like, so I can suggest how easy it'd be to make a profile up to cap it. I'm sure @RattyMcClelland or @Lewd Lude Lover could maybe shed some light :?:

this sounds like a good idea anyway  I can see if there is any crap in there and give it a good clean out.

looking forward to seeing what is actually forged, if anything is actually forged
