If you go for a different console, to be safe make sure you get the whole thing front to back. I've swapped just the front portions before on a previous lude and the new front left a slightly larger gap between it and the back portion. I couldn't adjust it to close the gap which suggests there are slight discrepancies.
The only varient that will matter otherwise is the handbrake, like you said. But you could always replace that for the facelift as well if that's the route you're wanting to go.

Top man Nath, I am looking at replacing the whole centre console. So for the handbrake...say if I find a facelift centre console, do I need to remove the full handbrake mechanism as well then?NafemanNathan wrote:If you go for a different console, to be safe make sure you get the whole thing front to back. Excuse the mess, but this is how a facelift looks under the centre console, so you'd need to make sure you have the same holes underneath yours to make sure the swap of the handbrake would be a straight forward affair...

Yeah, and you'll need to fab up some bits too. The mount points in the floor for the facelift handbrake don't exist.VT3C RUNN3R wrote:say if I find a facelift centre console, do I need to remove the full handbrake mechanism as well then?

Cheers guys. A lot of help as per usual. Rep to you both
Lemon, on a scale to 10 how difficult would you say this is? Bear in mind I still dont know how to hold a spanner
would I be write if I assumed:
Remove all fixings, pull away console, make new appopriate holes for new handbrake?, then fix new console!
Im hoping its as easy as this.
