That's a pain, fweaky

For that kind of leak, I'd suggest checking the rear screen seals (including looking at the fixings for the trim at the bottom of the rear window), the tail lights and the radio aerial.

I may be off topic with this mate, but when I had my golf VR6 I had the same problem. The passenger footwell was soaked and I later found out it was a heater matrix. I am not sure if the ludes have one or where they are located, but it could be something to do with the heating system. They tend to be waterbased so it might be an idea to check that out.

If I am wrong then call me a knob!! lol

It’s rain water not coolant. First thing I checked with an antifreeze tester.

water in footwell of my BB1 turned out to be inner door seal which i replaced along with new flare holder trim bit and plastic scuff/sill plate - all were a bit broken and hadnt been fitted back quite correctly - this allowed water past the seals - all is dry now

yeah its been a bit of a mission and a pretty bad time of year to be dealing with this kind of problem but got it fixed for under £40 so cant complain.
