If the door is slack it'll have a tendancy to pop out because as it drops, it doesn't take up the full width of the doorway (if you see what I mean). Definitely sounds like it needs adjusting rather than greasing now. Good luck with it!

(or can you ask for your money back from the people you just bought it off? :? )

It seems to work ok now if you lift from the centre, it's just missing it's last half foot of travel or so. That still leaves plenty of room for a car to go through though so in my book that's job done  no doubt in the future this will come back to bit me in the arse...

At any rate, I finished tidying up today. I also de-cobwebbed everything, as I am extremely scared of spiders and it was freaking me out that they may be lurking all around me

Time for the moment of truth then, is there enough space left for a car? :?

Bit tight though

All in all it's not been too much of an ordeal, and now I can crack on with drying out the Golf and making it watertight again. It also meant I got to move something else up the drive into pride of place

Over the next couple of months I'm aiming to try and repair the Prelude and get it on the road again, depending on funds of course. Feels like it's all coming together now though :)

And I'd just like to quickly apologise for adding another random thread to the forum, I know it's not the most gripping subject
