Cheers guys ..one cv boot coming up. Its the inner one so I may just get one of those universal glue together ones for a quick and easy fix as I have no time!

You need to make sure you do not get any grease on the join. Last year the inner joint was an advisory, but this year is a fail.

How badly split is it? It is possible to glue up cv gaitors with bicycle puncture repair glue (not worth it if they're pretty well perished otherwise though or the tear is massive, of course). I've been running a bicycle puncture repair patch over a nick in one of mine for years now and not had a problem with mot.
