Banter goes here, and doesn't have to be Lude related

I bought a couple from my local Honda store a few weeks ago. Never cheap but usually always very hard, high quality steel. I'm assuming 1 of the pins needed some angle-grinder love like mine did!

Eventually managed to free both off on my UKDM with lots of WD40, clamping the jobby out of the end of it with a pair of mole grips and rotating back-forth

:?
A nut and bolt wouldn't be ideal in that scenario tbh - the bolt will be a bit soft and bendy, plus the bearing face is threaded rather than a smooth shank, so it'll tend to wear and go sloppy
It would get you out of trouble as a quick fix, but I'd suggest getting hold of the right pin for longevity :?

I hate those things, probably not too bad if you clean them and coat in grease regularly but after 10-20 years of road salt... :o

First one I did came off after an hour of molegrips, jugs of boiling water and detergent (absence of a good blow torch) and then blasting with Locktite's new freeze spray; eventually managed to squeeze one out.

Tried the same for my second one for 30 mins, then nearly an hour of battering with a hammer and molegrips but no such luck. Actually pretty glad it resisted as it gave me my first blast with the angle grinder, which is great fun! Wanted more stuff to destroy after that!
